Butterfly Flower and Coconut Full Moon Milk

If you frequent food blogs on Instagram, you likely tripped across the recent culinary trend, curiously called moon milk. Dreamy, creamy and full of natural, nourishing ingredients, moon milk recipes promote relaxation before bedtime.

Butterfly Flower and Coconut Full Moon Milk

  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground butterfly pea flowers
  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar (sub maple syrup, honey or your preferred sweetener)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Remove green stems from pea flowers and grind to a powder.  You may use a mortar and pestle, but dried pea flowers are usually brittle enough to simple crush with clean fingers.
  2. If you opt to include roses, grind those, too.
