Ingredients
FOR THE DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE:
  • 3 cups Cake Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • ½ cups Boiling Water
  • ¾ cups Cocoa Powder
  • 3 sticks Unsalted Butter, Room Temperature
  • 2 cups Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 4 whole Large Eggs, Room Temperature
  • 1 cup Buttermilk, Room Temperature
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

FOR THE WHIPPED FROSTING:
  • 3 cups Whipping Cream
  • 1-½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ cups Powdered Sugar

FOR THE ASSEMBLY:
  • 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Whole Cherries In Syrup (reserve Some Of The Cherry Syrup)
  • 1 cup Chocolate Shaving

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease three 8-inch round cake pans, and line the bottoms with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the boiling water and cocoa powder until smooth.
